I'm listening to Brinsley Schwarz, led by Nick Lowe, singing Happy Doing What We're Doing. Listen here.

That's my kinda humor. I love all of 'em.
The only one I had to think about was "My three favourite things are eating dogs and not using commas". Clever and subtle :)
Hello Bazza, The "dog" one reminded me of the book of grammatical oddities that was named after the parallel example: The Panda bear eats shoots and leaves. I do a lot of editing, and have done many double-takes because of missing or extra commas.

I always appreciate a good laugh. Thank you, Bazza
Susan: Mine too! I wish I had written them all.....
Hels: I love that one. The best humour has some serious point underlining it.
Jim: Yes, I've read that book by Lynn Truss, She's a British writer and broadcaster and has written some excellent comedy for radio (my favourite medium!).
Arleen: There's (almost) nothing better than to laugh! Especially with friends...
Hi bazza,
Very funny. I think the Edinburgh Festival recently announced its annual "best joke". I may be wrong, but I think it went something something like, "Personally I'm not too keen on these new pound coins, but then again I hate all change." Geddit? There also seems to be another going around which goes, "I'm usually quite easy going, but when my wife told me to stop standing like a Flamingo, I had to put my foot down." Queue drum roll and cymbal clash!
Thanks for the laugh, bazza.
Best Wishes,
David.
David: I think both of those gags were from the Edinburgh Festival but a few years ago! Still, a good one is worth repeating. And again and again!
I believe that this year's winner was:
“Working at the Jobcentre has to be a tense job, knowing that if you get fired, you still have to come in the next day.”
Hi Bazza - I so often 'walk past things like this' and think odd, but think no more ... so these were fun to read and where I needed to actually wake up to their meanings. Great ... wish I had the gift of the gab or writing notations ... still a happy post - thank you ... cheers Hilary
Hilary: They all make me laugh so I assume others will enjoy them. Thanks for the feedback!
Those are funny. I like the Roman numeral joke and the color blind joke.
Sherry: I love one-liners and these are a selection of some of my favourites. More to come soon!
"Eats shoots and leaves." An old one....
So much fun to read your blog again. Trying to get back into the blogging world with "old" friends.
Thanks for all the good healthy laughs here!
Natalie: I'm so sorry - I only just noticed this reply! Nice to hear from you again.
Dina: As above. Thanks for looking in!
