"Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendia was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice."

Hi Bazza - thanks for your wishes ... that door is now open - at least down here we have blue skies and some sun - a great change! - here's to peace and happiness for us all - cheers Hilary
Hello Bazza, Happy New Year to you and your family. You have found the perfect cartoon that expresses our apprehensions about what is to come. Let's hope we are pleasantly surprised! --Jim
Today is 1/1/22.. I wonder if that is a special date. Probably not, given that the number of new covid cases was at a base line level last week, and has doubled every day since. I am always uber-careful anyway, with social distancing/vaccines/masks/hand cleansing/and no going into inside spaces in coffee shops. But perhaps that little covid-bugger can leap through masks!
Tomorrow Sunday I will take the grandchildren out to our usual Sunday lunch in the sunshine, but this week we will make it a special New Year event. We will raise a glass to the good health of you and yours :)
Hels: We have the same Covid madness here. Most of my family (four grandchildren, two daughters, one son-in-law, one former son-in-law and one about-to-be son-in-law) have all succumbed. Fortunately, all with minimum illness! Tomorrow, Sunday, I am leading my walking group, which raises funds for Camp Simcha children's charity, for our annual walk in a local park which is usually voted into the top ten in the UK (Valentines Park, Ilford). Cheers! to you and your family.

Hilary: All best to you Hilary for 2022. We need to take advantage of this mini heat-wave while we can!
Jim: Thank you for that thought. I love that cartoon - it says so much...

Diana: Thank you! Your greetings are reciprocated!
I really enjoyed listening to Someone to Watch Over Me. Great recording! I haven't heard that song in a long time. Thank you for sharing.
Wishing you a happy, healthy 2022!
Sherry: Thank you. I love that song - there are so many good cover versions of it. Willie Nelson does it well!
