Big Think has been described as a You Tube for ideas and it has sections such as Videos, Playlists, Articles, Experts and Podcasts. It's the kind of Website where you might drop in to have a quick look at what's happening in current thinking and be drawn into reading articles and watching videos and then an hour has gone by....and then another...
Recent articles have included "The Universe May Be Conscious, Say Prominent Scientists", "Addictive Behaviour Isn't Just for Addicts. We May All Be Hooked" and "Why Poetry is a Refuge for Your Brain"And how about these video titles?: "Download Your Brain into Another Body? To No Longer Die Changes Everything", "Why A.I. Might Run the World Better Than Humans" (by Richard Dawkins) and "What Does it Mean to Fully Be Human? Opening Yourself to Uncomfortable Truths" - this video is by Bryan Cranston, yes Breaking Bad's Walter White!
I believe that most people who visit this site are thinkers who are curious about the world and possess a certain level of intelligence and so would be enthralled by Big Think.
Find it here and I hope you enjoy it.
I'm listening to The Grateful Dead. Currently its Uncle John's Band; an absolute classic that you can listen to here.

Hello Bazza, Interesting site, but I thought the articles could have been more in depth, and I disliked the pop-up ads. (Right now my computer can't play videos.) The article about pets eating their owners is perfect for Halloween coming up tomorrow.

Hi Bazza - I've been subscribing to Big Think for a while - and certainly enjoy some of their articles ... things that don't interest me are easily passed by. I love it - it certainly gives me an understanding of some things, or an introduction to a subject as an overview ... then I can always look more. I enjoy it .. and thanks for highlighting it - cheers Hilary
You have given me homework for the week. I will check these out. I definitely want to check out Downloading Your Brain into Another Body.. Maybe I could put my name on a recipient’s list.
Jim: I suppose it's perfect for those with a short attention span! You do have to dig around a bit but there are some gems there somewhere.
Hilary: If one is only interested in 10% of their output that leaves plenty to get to grips with. And it certainly provides source material for new Blog posts.
Arleen: I think I would rather have another body with my (current) brain! There is a risk of spending even more hours on-line.
We can find normal news/commentary through the regular newspapers eg Trump's future criminal charges, but Big Think seems to be an ideal site for non-normal news/commentary. I particularly valued articles like "If Entire Countries Apologised More Often, the World Would Be More Peaceful" - after all, where else might I find these slightly subversive articles?
Hels: That's true but I tend to look for cutting-edge science stuff. One can really surf the site in the very best way. I never think of the time spent there as wasted but rather as knowledge gained. It's not the only source on the Net of slight subversion!
Ah, Bazza, old chap! I shall duly check out, Big Think. My last two brain cells could use some exercise.
Toodle pip, me old mucker.
Gazza.
Bazza to Gazza: I am pleased that you now have two brain cells. When did you acquire the second one? ;-)
Gazza to Bazza: I obtained one of your two remaining brain cells.
A most pleasant weekend to you, Bazza old boy! 😉
And to you Gary!
